TLD;DR: MixRank is a privately owned data company, with no intentions of selling.
Why should this matter? Because providing data isn’t a one-off transaction (if that’s what you seek, MixRank isn’t a fit). If you’re buying a data subscription, you want to buy it from an organization that you can trust. But what does trust mean? And what has MixRank done to deserve that trust? Here are a few reasons;
MixRank is a US company that has been in business since 2011, and backed by some of the world’s best startup investors including YCombinator, 500 Startups, and Mark Cuban.
Scott, our CEO, owns majority control of the company, meaning there are no risks to external influence on our product direction.

MixRank performs the industry’s highest volume of crawls — 100 million to 150 million monthly — for our People Dataset, and we’re transparent with what we fetch. If anyone claims to do more, ask them what types of queries they’re including. If they’re blurring their queries with SERP queries, that’s dishonest. We do SERP queries, but we don’t pad our stats with those results.
MixRank was the first vendor to implement “updated_at” dates for all our records, introducing a new level of time-stamped transparency. That way, when we say our data is “fresh,” you’ll know exactly how fresh it is.
MixRank provides our crawl volumes and refresh stats for the past 12 months to each prospective customer before they decide to move forward with MixRank. We will evaluate our data against any vendor, so you can see the difference in quality before deciding.
MixRank is 100% GDPR & CCPA compliant. Read MixRank’s Privacy Policy. We offer a Privacy Redaction API to our customers, that can be used to exercise DSAR requests on behalf of your end-users, completely automated.

Data is half the cost, the rest is in processing it. MixRank offers a great deal of customizability in accessing data. This is our greatest strength; that, and we deliver data hourly — not monthly, not quarterly. We can provide the data through:

What do you get, besides raw data?
Internal mapping
One of the very first things every customer does is to make sure every profile in their database is mapped to an updated record on MixRank’s side. Oftentimes, profile URLs may be deleted, outdated or made private. MixRank offers a free API that resolves all such URLs (including URL transformations) and points them to the MixRank internal profile ID.
Title normalization
MixRank provides a free database of 100 million normalized titles to help you create your own title classification. No need to reinvent the wheel.
Name normalization
Oftentimes, employees may not link company records. MixRank includes, for all customers at no additional charge, a hand-curated table that associates such orphaned company names to the appropriate records.
Email pattern mapping
MixRank has observed common email patterns for organizations, which is included at no cost to customers.
Seniority classification
MixRank has indexed every single title it has seen into seniority & job functions, which will be free to all customers.
Industry code mapping
We’ve mapped company records to their corresponding NAICS codes, so you don’t have to.
Inferred skills
MixRank has introduced the most ambitious skill-mapping solution ever created. Combining multiple sources, this is a completely proprietary dataset, made freely available to all customers.
TL;DR: Sometimes MixRank is not the right choice, but we’re always the best choice.
Let us tell you one of our favorite stories about the longest time it’s taken us to win a customer over: 4 years. The first 2 years, the customer didn’t feel the need to switch vendors because they weren’t actively using data. Year 3, they wanted to switch, but their previous vendor gave them a deal they couldn’t refuse. Year 4, they signed with MixRank because regardless of price, the quality of the data was slowing them down.
